Exotic Merchant
You will unlock the Exotic Merchant at level 30. At the Exotic Merchant you can sell scrolls and inventory items in exchange for exotic coins. Also at level 65 you start earning emblems of courage from missions. You can exchange these emblems for various gear chests.

In the item shop, you can sell scrolls and inventory items you don't need for exotic coins.

The average value of a random inventory item is 120 exotic coins. The average value of a random non-gold inventory item is 160 exotic coins.
Exotic Upgrades
In the exotic upgrades shop, you can buy permanent upgrades with exotic coins. There are 21 fixed exotic upgrade trees:

Afterwards, the following four trees repeat cyclically with base level requirements increasing by 10 per tree and both stage and wave skips increasing by 400 per tree:
- Exotic Upgrade Tree A (trees 22, 26, 30, ...)
- Exotic Upgrade Tree B (trees 23, 27, 31, ...)
- Exotic Upgrade Tree C (trees 24, 28, 32, ...)
- Exotic Upgrade Tree D (trees 25, 29, 33, ...)
The highest exotic upgrade tree is currently 93. You have to completely finish one tree to access the next tree. Every upgrade in each of the trees has 40 levels. The cost of an upgrade increases by 24 exotic coins per upgrade level:
cost = base cost + 24 * current upgrade level
Each upgrade also has a minimum character level requirement which increases by 2 character levels per upgrade level:
level requirement = base level requirement + 2 * current upgrade level
Emblem Market
The emblem market unlocks at character level 65. In the market you can buy gear chests with emblems of courage, jewel chests with emblems of valor and celestial chests with emblems of brotherhood.
